VONNICE BOONE

As a Project Manager at Walmart, Inc, Vonnice manages Associate Resource Groups (ARG’s) with their programming efforts via various constituent groups.  Vonnice is an accountant by trade and recently made a major career change from being a Foreign Corruption Practices Act (FCPA) auditor for Walmart for over 4.5 years.  Prior to moving to Northwest Arkansas over six years ago, Vonnice was a trailing spouse.

Vonnice is a transplant from the Washington, DC area.  She is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting as a non-traditional student, and the University of Maryland, where she earned her MBA.  Vonnice is currently pursuing her doctorate in education with a focus on performance improvement process.  She will graduate with her EdD in June 2023.  I think it's fair to say that she is a lifelong learner.

In addition, Vonnice is an entrepreneur and co-owns a barbeque catering company (Avenue Smokers) in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, Dorian Boone.  She is a proud mom of two boys ages 12 and five, a senior dog named Zack, and a turtle named Leer.

Finally, in the community, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, a council member of the NWA MLK Council, the co-chair of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Sam Walton College of Business, the president of Endo Black, and a charter member and first president of the Northwest Arkansas Interim Chapter of the NBMBAA®.  Vonnice also was recently inducted into the 2021 Northwest Arkansas Forty under 40.
